First time on Paxil
Hey! Does anyone have any positive results on 20mg of Paxil? I've read so may bad reviews on the internet, but the 2 people that I know that are on it say it's very good. I'm switching from Pristiq, I took it for 5 days and it gave me panic attacks every night, and I rarely get panic attacks, so now I'm kind of turned off on it. I have severe hypochondria, so my doctor put me on this to see of it helps...
Thanks!
Thanks!
Had an experience with antidepressants in the past. I didnt like that the drug was creating more symptoms to deal with I can handle...although todays new meds try to eliminate the side effects. I had very dry mouth, sleepiness, and trouble urinating....I discontinued it all and said to myself....I am the only one who really knows my symptoms, I just dealt with it with a strong upper lip, relaxation books, meditation, good organic foods and some exercise......came through with flying colors......Now I have to get back into that mode......its tough getting up that hill but when you are there the view is beautiful!!! creamcheese
I've been on 10mg paxil for about 10 years now for panic/anxiety and ive had conflicting reports from doctors saying that 10MG isnt really a prescribable dose that the minimum is 20MG for panic/anxiety disorder. I'm to chicken to up my dose to 20MG although quite a few doctors have told me to. I do however notice a big difference in how i feel when using the brand name paxil over the generic. Thank god my plan covers the brand name i would tell anyone to stay away from the generics.
I have been on paxil for 8 years changing doses and even trying to change meds. paxil seems to be the one that works for me and yes there are side effects, but I find them more tolerable than constant anxiety/panic and severe depression. I am curently on 30mg trying to get stable from a terrible switch. Taking meds is never what people want to do, but it is a personal decision that only you can make- taking it doesn't make you weak or inferior in any way- you have to do what you need to do to feel comfortable.
