I am currently on Zoloft, and I don't get anything out of it when I need it most. I have taken effexor, celexa, lexapro, cymbalta. I seen most improvement from Cymbalta. But I also need a med for anxiety. I do have xanax, but I have the lowest dose and I try not to take it unless I really need it.

I know one med may work better for one person then another. Are there any other med suggestions? I was thinking of going back to Cymbalta or maybe Paxil?

Have you tried Klonopin? I really think it's great with no side effects except a little sleepy. Don't give up, it's a good drug. I hate side effects and have been happy with it.

go to brain scans.com....i think thats what it is..anyway, this doctor found that if you have a certain subtype of anxiety where you cycle alot, that fish out really helped. get a good quality one...i take it and there are NO side effects and no interactions with other meds. Its really helped me.

Also, I've taken paxil with cymbalta and it was a very effective combination. just get on it slowly and plan to stay on it long term. good luck honey.

I am on Cymbalta as well as Klonopin and seems to work the best out of all the combos I have tried. I was also on Paxil for the longest time and a couple of different doctors freaked out and told me that being on Paxil too long with really mess you up/make you even crazier than you are. So becareful

I have tried cymbalta, started on paxil which worked wonderfully for about 12 years. My paxil stopped suddenly and I went through the whole list of SSRIs. Now I'm not on anything and having big time problems. My anxiety and depression are the worst ever. Cymbalta did seem to help me best of all but the pschyie kept wanting to try something different. Klonopin really helped me relax but he stopped me right in the middle of a prescription and gave me nothing! The last psychie I began seeing a few months ago put me on Carbatrol without discussion. This is a fierce drug in every way. He jumped me from 200 twice a day to 600 three times a day within a week. On the first day of the upgrade I actually thought I was dying. My blood pressure and heart kept steady though. I had to use my mother-in-law's oxygen tank to breathe, I couldn't stand up, I couldn't talk without slurring, I was drooling, the room spinning etc. My whole family came to my house ready to carry me to the emergency room when I finally began to come down a little from all this. I am still feeling the dizzying effects of that drug and it's been well over three weeks. When I called him the next day he told me I was lying. That it was veritably impossible for me to have that kind of reaction to carbatrol. That's what he thinks. I don't think I would trust him again.

I believe I was at my best with Klonopin and Cymbalta. And I plan to go see my internist because he's actually been the only one to give me any kind of help with meds. I think he'll give me Klonopin and Cymbalta to try again. At this point I don't sleep and can't even relax enough to go the bathroom, urinate! Some Klonopin would help, it has in the past, almost two years ago and I don't abuse. I don't know why they won't prescribe for me. Anyway, I'm hoping to see a change in my attitudes with this program. I've done CBT before but never the quality of what I see here. I've given up on the psychiatric community completely. I don't like their arrogance and lack of concern. This has been the typical attitude in the 5 psychies I've seen over the last 4 years. No difference in any one. Thanks Lucinda.I wish someone would comment, anything, on what I've posted.

Does anybody know the proper treatment in the way of medication, for peripheral neuropathy? My psychie says that pain medication is not the right treatment. I've tried Lyrica and massive neurontin with no luck. I was on the neurontin 8000mg twice a day for over a year.
