I just started paxil 7 days ago - I'm on 5 mg with the hope of making it to 10 mg. I took 10 mg successfully about 8 years ago for 2 years.

This time I'm struggling with side effects. I have noticed today that I am seeing what they call "visual snow". When I look at a dark background it looks like I am seeing a light rain shower.

Anybody else? Will this go away? I'm definitely not upping my dosage now but I'd like to hang on for a few more days to see if it will clear up.

Thanks.

I haven't noticed the eye thing again. Maybe it was always there when I get anxious. I hate that I am always "alert" and looking for "danger" b/c I will blow everything out of proportion. I can't trust my brain at all. I never know what I am making up in my head.

Susie, just hang in there. Different medications act differntly with different people. I take paxil and have taken it for over 10 years. It has been a total lifesaver for me. The only problem I had was a dry mouth in the beginning. After having worked on this program, I am going to start tapering off this summer. Hopefully I can get down to a lower dose. Take care and God bless.

Missletoes, please be very careful when you go off paxil. I was on it couple of years back and I couldn't afford it any more so i took myself off of it. Well when I did I got electrical shocks in my the back of my neck. It was pretty freaky Take care
