Hi everyone..I'm currently suffering from OCD and it seems as if it has only been getting worse. I'm constantly in my own head and whenever i feel something is wrong I compulsively count until theres a number that 'feels right'. Anyway, I have an appointment with my psychiatrist tomarrow and I'm not sure where to go.
Im currently on:
60mg Paxil - morning
50mg zoloft (just started 2 weeks ago)- morning
200mg Seroquel - 3 times a day
50mg Trazodone - Taken as a sleep aid if needed
I feel as though the antidepressants (Paxil) are not helping me as much as they used to. I've only been on seroquel for about a week and a half and it basically makes me tired with minimal effect on my anxiety.
I've read up on Benzodiazepines and I actually tried xanax and valium a few times recreational. No, I didn't get high. I realized how wonderful these are, but how addictive they can be.
So my question is, when I see my psych should I mention any benzos? If so, should I tell her I took them recreational before and it work wonders.
I'm currently 18 and no, I'm not looking to "get high" or make money. I'm trying too free myself from my own head and I believe benzos would be so much help
Thank you
New, looking for advice
Hi BT--
I would be honest with your doctor and let them know all medications you have tried and how you reacted to them. Also have you tried Cognitive Behavioral Therapy? I too suffer from OCD & anxiety. Many who suffer from OCD have excellent results with medication combined with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This program is also very helpful. Good luck to you.

Just curious why you are on two SSRI's. Also, Seroquel can be a good drug, but you might want to ask your MD about Abilify or Respirdal. I tried Seroquel without success and recently switched to Respirdal and am getting better results. Start low if thats what your Dr. Recommends as Respirdal is very sedating.
