***POSITIVE FEEDBACK ONLY!!! I CAN'T HEAR ANYTHING NEGATIVE RIGHT NOW*****

If you are taking Cymbalta, I just started and I need to talk to someone about their experience when they started it.

I know that all medications like this have an adjustment period but I need someone to talk to about it.

Thanks!!

I took Cymbalta for a while. I remember it was good b/c it helped with the physical pain that can accompany depression, like neck and shoulder pain you get from tensing the shoulders up all the time or sitting hunched at the computer. Personally, I just needed something much stronger, but I've heard good things from other people about it too, and I didn't experience any side effects from it either. Hope that helps a little, Beverly

When you started it did you feel weird for a little while? How long did it take for you to adjust to it?

My sister takes cymbalta & it works great for her. She said it took about 4 weeks for the comfort to be fully felt & she is so glad she stuck with it, been taking it for about 6 months now. Most people want immediate results (like me) but this type medication searches for the chemical imbalance to be able to balance it. It takes time, no 2 people will have the same results. you stick with it & remember to belly breathe, God that helps so much. ps: your picture shows in your eyes how intense you are, use that to your advantage, talk to your symptoms, it may seem like they have control over you but they don't. you can also ask your doctor about your uncomfortable side effects. Read the pamphlet that comes with RX from top to botton so you know the side effects your experiencing are not unusual. mayoclinic.com has some great ref's on med's.

Make sure you keep your thoughts positive too. your negative thought process can do you more harm than anyone elses.
Hope this helps.

I didn't feel weird. I felt a little better and a little hopeful each time I tried something new. I knew in my head it would take a few weeks for it to really kick in. But no, no side effects. You can look those up though on www.webmd.com.

Hi,
I have Fibromyalgia and tried Cymbalta which is supposed to be a good anti-depressant for chronic pain. I had a very bad reaction to Cymbalta although I have tried several other types of anti-depresants over the years with little difficulty.
I became manic when I tried it and could not sleep. My thoughts were racing and I was in a state of extremely high anxiety and emotionally unstable. My blood pressure became dangerously high and I literally thought I was losing my mind. I went to a counselor who put me in a hospital. Once I quit taking it the symptons began to go away but it took several weeks to get regulated and feel ok again. If you are having any of these symptons you should see a doctor ASAP! Some people react to Cymbalta adversely. Also, check your RX for side affects of this med. Don't want to scare you but if you are having severe side affects you should get medical advice right away.

I haven't tried cymbalta but I went on lexapro. My doc said I would get nausea and to stick with it. I trust him so I did and it did go away. I think you have to stick with a lot of these med for a few weeks before anything happens. We just bought a bigger vehicle yesterday and I know if I didn't have these meds I would never have driven it!

My boyfriend takes it and likes it. He said he experiences problems with feeling certain sensations sexually, but that's it. He said the biggest plus was that his migranes went away as they were associated with his depression.

I appreciate everyone's feedback on this! I started the Cymbalta 3 days ago, and although the first day was a little rough, I am starting to feel better and I think this is going to be a good thing. I just wanted to say thank you to this community for being such good help!
