i have been taking lexapro for 3 weeks now, some days I feel a diffrence some days i don't...lol. My doctor said it would take at least 5 weeks to see full benefits. I was also presribed klonopin for the time being. I have not taken the klonopin. It took me 20 years of suffering and being scared of meds to take the lexapro. I will say with the lexapro i was very tired and sleepy at first week. I yawned alot and had a metal taste in my mouth, but that has kinda gone away now. Good luck.

jp4...,

I began taking Lexapro in OCtober, Initially I had headaches and was feeling kind of tired, but that has since passed. I tried Ativan and Paxil as well but the LExapro has worked thus far, no major side effects, There are sill some panic times but not as severe as it has been in the past. Best to you and give it a try.

I don't take lexapro but I do take Klonopin and Zoloft. I was prescribed the klonopin when I first started taking the zoloft and a year later and I am still taking it. I only take .25 of the klonopin in the morning because for some reason I have morning anxiety and it has really helped me so much. About a year ago I wasnt even leaving my house and now I am back to work and I even went to the beach this summer. I still have my days and I seem to still have anxiety every day but nothing that I can't handle. It has really helped me and I really think that lexapro and zoloft are alot alike. I am one to not take medicine but I finally forced it down and I am so glad I did. You will get through this. If you need anything just let me know.

How many mg's of Lexapro did each of you start with? I have had liquid Lexapro in my cabinet for two months now and afraid to try it! : (
I really need to get the courage up, I need a break from symptoms.

Thanks,

Coco : )

I only take Lexapro, 10mg. I have been on it since April 2008 and it has worked wonders. Stick with it. The SE will lessen over time, I have none know and feel great.

hello i started lexapro 3 years ago after having tried so many otheres. i srated on 10mg for 1 month and did'nt cope with side effects, went up yp 20 and have been on that a year. it makes me tired for about 3 hours then the headache hits. i had a family crisis and was bumped to 30. this does put me to bed. i was so sleepy, headaches. nausa.but i stuck with it and after 3 weeks i feel so much better. but as insurance companies often do. they will pay for 30 tabs of lexapro only. i guess lexapro does'nt come in 30 mg. so i have to have 30 20mg and 15 10mg but the insurance company will only pay for rhe 30 20's i have to pay 68 dollars for the other 15' this does'nt seem right or fair. but it works for me so i;ll do whay i have to do to feel this good

I was on 10 mg ofProzac for MANY years. When my anxiety started several months ago my doctor increased it to 20, then 40 and finally 60mg with no success. I have weaned myself off the Prozac and now I am taking 20mg of Celexa. It makes me a little tired. I do think I am starting to feel better. Not sure if it's the program, the medication or both, but whatever it is...I'm very thankful. Good luck with your medication.
