I have been on Zoloft for about a month. It is working pretty good but I can't sleep. I was on Remeron and slept great but was gaining weigh really fast. If I take something (sleep aid) I can sleep but don't want to reley on that from now on. I take it of the morning and have droped the MG from 100 to 50. I was just wondering if anyone else had to stop taking it because of insomnia.

Zoloft has opposite effect for me. I can not sleep at all and when I retake the zoloft, I can sleep at night again. I like to get off this drug but I need to find out how I can sleep at night. My sleep cycle seems to be turned off and my mind was so alert. I find out if I take Zoloft at night, it will make me hard to sleep, so I take the med around 6PM every day. Does anyone have the same insomia problem and can it be treated without taking zoloft?

If I knew I could feel this normal on Zoloft I would have taken it years ago.

I had a bad experience on Paxil.

I take Zoloft in the morning and sleep well at night. I took it at night for awhile because it sometimes made me too tired but it didn't work as well when I took it at night.

I went to my family doctor and he put me on Luvox for OCD. I went to a psychiatrist and he put me on Zoloft.

I haven't gained much weight either. I plan on getting off the medication though. I started in January after the holidays, job stress and surgery. I have endometreosis and had a tube and ovary removed. I was so anxious that I trembled and numb arms and hands. I want to get off Zoloft soon once I learn some tools like Cognitive Behavioral therapy like the program.

My psychiatrist said that the program was Cognitive Behavioral Therapy on a tape and would be a good thing to try. I am glad for his opinion.

I also exercise at Curves and take vitamins. I am still working on cutting my cafeine intake.

Exercise always makes me sleep better.

Good luck and God Bless. Hope everyone gets better.

I'm on Zoloft - 100 mg in the a.m. - and I do not average more that three or four (at the most) hours of sleep a night. Sleeping aids of any kind work just the opposite and I am "owl eyed" all night. I do well with the Zoloft as far as the depression goes - do you really think the Zoloft is making us insomanics?

I just finished a six day course of 25 mg zoloft, and quit because of the terrible insomnia it gave me. My friends who are on it don't have this problem, but my doctor said that everyone reacts differently. Maybe I'm just really sensitive to it. I haven't taken it since Tuesday morning, and have had mild withdrawal symptoms...I'm praying they don't get worse!

Hi, Yes I've had problems with Zoloft & Insomnia. I'm trying to cut down from 100mg to 75mg. i take 1/4 in AM and 1/2 after dinner. Seems to work well with me.
