I am new to the program, I just started this week. My doctor put me on Lexapro four weeks ago. I hate the way it makes me feel (No focus, no sex drive and no motivation). My doctor has told me I will probably be on medication forever.

I do not feel like I have given the Lexapro time to get into my systems but I can not see myself taking medication for the rest of my life.

Has anyone had experience with Lexapro and when to get off of it.

Hi Bgca,
My Dr. told me the same thing about having to be on it for the rest of my life. But, with all due respect to him, I disagree! I refuse to let this happen to me.
Use the information in this course and gradually (and I do mean gradually) ween yourself off it.
Even though it takes time and some serious effort, it's MUCH better to learn the coping skills to deal with life's issues than it is to be a slave to some drug, especially with such undesirable side effects.
I also got a book on tape called "Stop Worring and Start Living" by Dale Carnegie. It has changed my life! Don't be afraid to use all the tools (books, CDs and self help courses) you can to help you conquer your challenges.
Peace be with you and God Bless.
Focus on what you want, not what you fear...
