It is 2 weeks that i am on Zoloft. I started taking 25mg and now i am on 50mg. I am STILL not feeling better. I am not even feeling slightly better. In fact, i feel worse at times. I struggle throughout the day. I guess i just have to wait longer. How will i know if this is the right medicine for me?

Hi

I believe it was about 4 weeks or so before I really started to feel a difference with Zoloft. I take 25 mg a day and it does help me. I would like to suggest that you give it more time and if after 4 to 6 weeks you don't feel it is working for you then think about making a change.

I have taken many medications and zoloft works best for me whereas some of the others made me MORE nervous. You will know if it is right for you or not. Trust yourself. When I was exposing myself to a phobic situation and I didn't have a full blown panic attack but rather moderate anxiety I knew the zoloft was helping.

Can I ask in what way do you feel worse at times?

I take 0.5mg of ativan a day and it really helps. I get anxiety in the afternoon, but I have been able to manage it. I would rather not take anything, but I just can't get thru the morning. I am working on session 2. The relaxation tape helps alot, but I am looking forward to being anxiety free.

Rosie,

When I was on Zoloft it took about 5 weeks for me to feel like the cloud of depression started to lift and the nausea taper. ( I am med sensitive) I wanted the stuff to work quick too, but that is not how SSRI's or SNRI's work. My MD said it would take several weeks (4-6).

Hi Rosie4- I just wanted to check in and see if the Zoloft had started to work for you. I started taking it too about three weeks ago, I stated taking half of the 25mg for ten days and now I'm taking the whole pill. My doctor wants me to increase it to 50mg but I'm king of hessitant. It took me over a year just to try the Zoloft because I am so terrified of meds. It hasn't really kicked in for me yet either, but I will continue to try it, as I've only had minimal side effects.

Yes at one time I did take Zoloft for depression years back and it did take about 5 weeks for it too work....then I was weaned off to deal with the root of the depression. As anxiety developed my Doctor attempted Zoloft again but my body rejected it......mainly my body was not depressed. It made the anxiety worse. If the Zoloft has not made significant improvement in your life after 5 weeks please advise your physician. There are different SSRI's out there.

Hello. I started taking 100mgs of Zoloft about two and a half weeks ago, and I haven't felt any real effects from it yet either. Nothing seems to work it appears..

Have your meds started working for you yet Rosie?
