Effexor XR??
effexor I found not to be helpful at all. I tried to get off of it and it was a nightmare of a withdrawl syndrome I experienced. It seemed like it was helping for a while but in hindsight I feel like it was hurting because I experienced many of the side effects that I was not aware of at the time of taking it. I guess everybody has different effects but I feel that the effects it had on me certainly were not for the better. The withdrawl syndrome, I think 78% of people experience it is quite intense. It is probably no different than if somebody was taking an illegal drug and was withdrawing from that because it is a very powerful medication. Some claim it helps them a lot and a lot say the opposite. My personal experience is that I would not reccommend it but everyone has to make their own decision.
Effexor seemed to work okay for me for about a month, but after that i became really depressed. After accidently missing a dose one night, i realized that i felt much better mood wise the next day, although i had the dreaded withdrawal symptoms.
Beware of becoming depressed while on this drug. I know a lot of people have great success with it, but if you dont i would get off of it right away.
Also, if you have bipolar disorder, antidepressants can make it MUCH worse. Just something to be aware of.
Good luck, i hope it works for you!
P.S. I have been Effexor free for a week now, and although the side effects suck, it is possible to get off this drug.

Hi,
I have been taking Effexor XR for about 3 years at 150mg dosage per day. In January my doctor raised the dosage to 225mg per day. That was fine, I was having some difficulty at that time. Now, however, I feel so much better I decided to go back to 150mg per day. I only see my doctor every two or three months so I can't really tell her. At any rate I have reduced the amount I take by 1/3! I feel better however emotions are more real at this dosage, so I have to work harder at my recovery. I have had headaches just about every day, but now I have hit two weeks on the reduced dosage, and I feel very good. I see my doctor in two weeks, so I hope it is OK with her, but honestly, I do feel more alive!
