Dear Jillian:
I would check with your physician or pharmacist to see if you can drink alcohol while taking Klonopin/Clonazepam. I have not been able to drink alcohol since getting Acid Reflux / GERD several years ago and I really used to enjoy happy hours with my co-workers. I never smoked. And I just gave up coffee when I started the program. Just be careful while drinking alcohol and taking any prescription medication. I have found that my pharmacist is a big help when I have questions to ask about my meds. And be careful while driving while taking meds and / or drinking alcohol. Impaired driving does not JUST mean drinking and driving, it means impaired in any way, and we know that some medications affect our perception. Hang In There.

Everyone.............
I have been taking Klonopin for several months. I was the one that went to my doctor to ask for it,he did not originally prescibe it for me. I had an upsetting discussion last December with an ex-co-worker and that very evening I found myself almost going into a full blown panic attack, the kind that used to send me to the hospital. My physician says that I can take UP TO .05 mg four times per day if needed. I went down to 3 pills a day, and then down to 2, but I found that I needed more than two .05 per day. Yes, it can make you tired, so you have to be careful. I take 5 psychiatric medications at this time and a lot of them make me tired or have serious side effects. Don't feel bad about taking something for anxiety.

Jillian,
I take Klonopin and I have an occasional drink. I have not had any issues with it.
