wow, i see that I am not the only one in this situation. I too am trying to "wean" myself off. However, i have not been very successful yet. But in the meantime I found a great website in which i can get my lorazepam at a great price. Check out Bestmedvalues.com.
I feel sometimes that i don't know if i am coming or going but i am really trying to make 2009 my year to take care of me.

Hi,
I have been taking lorazepam since last May. I have found myself addicted to its effects. I am already working on coming off of it. If I knew how dangerous it was, I would have never started. Doctors gave it to me because of psychogenic seizures.
I found this on the web and thought that it would be useful for others to read.
"It is dangerous to try and purchase this medicine on the Internet or from vendors outside of the United States. Medications distributed from Internet sales may contain dangerous ingredients, or may not be distributed by a licensed pharmacy. Samples of lorazepam purchased on the Internet have been found to contain haloperidol (Haldol), a potent antipsychotic drug with dangerous side effects. For more information, contact the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or visit <A HREF="http://www.fda.gov/buyonlineguide." TARGET=_blank>www.fda.gov/buyonlineguide.</A>"

So, I just started taking lorazepam about a month ago, and now I'm scared to be without it.
The problem is I can't afford to keep going to the doctor, or pay for meds without insurance.
It's the only thing helping me right now, so imagine what that's doing for my nerves, the oh crap, it's going to run out, then what? I never used to have issues of feeling so out of control, I don't know what to do.

Don't stress over it! I was on Lorazepam for several months and I just told myself that I would be fine without it, that I was going to get this anxiety under control! Use the skills in the program and stay positive! You will only be addicted if you allow yourself! Be strong!
I stopped taking it and now I just take it on days that I need it, which is not often anymore! Please do not worry about the 'what if'...anxiety gives us enough grief without worrying about the meds we take! Keep a few on hand, for days you might need it...but be positive that you can get this under control...that is the only way to win this battle!
Cheers!

I know what you are going thru about being scared you are going to run out of lorazapam. I use to count them to make sure I was going to have enough. Praise God it has been since Sept that I haven't taken it. But I thank God it was there when I needed it. I used it for a whole year 3 ot 4 times a day. Till I started tapering it out. slowly so that it can get out of my system slowly.
If there is anything I can do or say to help you let me know. :O)You are going to make it stay positive.

I know someone who was terribly afraid to do anything without her pills. She thought that by keeping a pill in her pocket she was somehow going to protect herself from having a panic attack or at least it would cure her attack if she were to have one.
Problem with this is that it sends a message to your brain that you need to avoid panic at all costs. Having the pill gives a false sense of security.
The StressCenter.com program teaches that in order to overcome panic, you need to face it. That means experience it, work through it, survive it and practice the skills while having an attack.
It is true that this is the ONLY way to overcome fear of panic. It is by having those feelings....accepting, floating, and telling yourself the truth.
When I was at my lowest point in health, finding the StressCenter.com program was a godsend. Hearing all that it had to say - was bitter sweet!
I knew there would be no easy way out. I had answers but they seemed so hard to face.
I just want to encourage anyone reading this to follow the skills in the program! They really do work.

Sunset34 you are so right. This program is so helpful. I thank God that it was there to help me get back on track. This along with Joyce Meyer, Celfo Dollar and this positive preachings. It took a lot of work but thank God we know there is a way out and way to heal. When you are in that pit you feel there is no way out but there is. God will give you the wisdom on what to do to get better.
Stay positive :O)
