Questions and experiences with prescription medications

I came cold turkey off all meds once when i had a virus that seemed to last forever. I couldn't keep any meds down at all. I experienced a weird feeling where you move but feel like your body is a split second behind. It didn't last long. My doc said it was the w/d of the anti=depressant doing that.
I experienced the same thing a year ago when I came home from inpatient and some of my meds were missing. My Lexapro was gone but I didn't notice it for some reason. I started having that weird sensation again and checked what I had brought back. I had already found my sleep med missing which was awful and the klonopin was similar to the experience in one of the other responses you received.
I don't doubt you can make it without your meds, I just think I understand the docs to say it's better and easier on you to wean.

I CANNOT believe your meds would go AWOL from a medicinal facility. I'm so tired of incompentency. Thankfully YOU were able to figure out what was going on...

Oh it's sad. I don't doubt someone took them. They were Lexapro, Klonopin and Ambien CR. The worst was that I had 90 day supplys. The insurance company doesn't pay for "stolen" prescriptions, which I thnk they were. The doc won't call a new script in b/c you might be a druggie making up stories to get more drugs. UUHHH! Figuring it out really didn't get me anywhere. It was hard having to wait until the prescription was ready to be filled again. Moral- CHECK EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE FACILITY. Better yet, empty your pills into labeled ziploc bags and leave them at home only taking the actual bottle with the info they need. You live and learn.

Gemma,
I read your profile becaue I saw you were from Arizona. I am a teachers assistant, love to garden, and read as well! So had to say hi. Anyway about your question.....There is a site called theroadback.org you click up on the top where it says *How to start* There is so much amazing information. I hope and pray it all goes well for you, if anything the site shows there is hope, and a way to get off. Keep posting so we know how you are doing. By the way you are going to love the program, it changed my life!

God Bless,
Ivy

Hi Golden!
At the top of the page there is an orange "tab" that says New User Peer Support. After clicking on that, the next page asks which month you began the program, select one... and you're in!
Best wishes,
fischee
