I have been on Zoloft 50mg for 6 or more mos. I have lost 11 lbs, I was already slim so can't afford to lose more. My appetite is simply terrible, suddenly I will get to a point where my body says "I've got to have food." Then I can eat a little something but lose interest fast. I too am sleep deprived, tired every day...I am soon to go back to Pamelor which many years ago helped a good deal till insurance would no longer pay for brand name. This has been the ONLY anti dep. that helped. I am going to use the brand name drug thanks to Canada.

I started to increase my Zoloft last night. I had been on 25mg for a couple of weeks and started taking another 12.5 last night. I feel terrible and shakey this morning just like I did when I first started. Do side effects start over ever time you increase the dose. I guess I'll just roll with it. I've been here before.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Hi there! I am wondering, as I have tried several medications for my unexplainable anxiety (Lexapro and Zoloft) and while they worked wonders on my anxiety, the sexual side effects were awful. I am wondering if anyone taking the "Positive mood" supplements have any trouble in the bedroom? Does it effect sex life? Can I still orgasm? I just bought the pills and am skeptical. Can I have my cake and eat it too? lol. Thanks!!!!

Hi Everyone,
To continue my story.... After being on Zoloft .25mg for a week then .50mg for 3 weeks, In this 4 week time frame, I had lost 11 lbs, from 122 to 111 lbs. I had no appetite, could not sleep even with Xanax and Lunesta 3 mgs. Also, I was taking .5mg of xanax 3 times a day.
Something good is finally happening. Ever since zoloft was increased to .75 mg, I have been feeling a little better. I have switched from Lunesta to Trazodone 125mg at night to sleep. At first, I did 50mg then 100mg then tried 125mg for the last few nights. It has helped me sleep. The side effects of zoloft was really making me go crazy. no eating and sleeping and increased anxiety because of lack of sleep in addition to more anxiety because I had to take so many more meds just to cope with Zoloft side effects. It was such a downer.
I am going to up on my zoloft to 100mg starting tomorrow and still hoping that it will get better. I have been taking less xanax for the past week. I actually gained weight back (116) and appetite is back. Could be combination of increased zoloft woking and sleeping continous hous of sleep.
I have heard from numerous doctors, in order for zoloft to work, you have to take more than 50mg- which still is considered sub-theraputic level. It actually needs to be in the range of 100-150mg for the anxiety to go away and that it could take up to 8 weeks for side effects to diminish.
I'll let you know how the 100mg is working next week. Tring to cut down on xanax as well. Wish me luck
