klonopin for long term use?
Penny G,
I originally purchased and went through this program in '96. At the time I was having panic attacks and was practically an agoraphobic. I was afraid of everything. I really had no life.
Thanks to the program, I was able to get my life back. I went on to pursue my dreams of a college degree - eventually got three
- raised my two kids, etc. Life was good. The program works.
However, 6 1/2 years ago I lost my 18 year old son to an acute asthma attack. My panic attacks did not return, but I got very anxious and depressed. I've been on meds every since, with the only constant being Klonopin. I would like to eventually be free of the meds again, and it occurred to me that this program may be the answer again. Not having my '96 version any more, my husband needed it after my divorce, I ordered a new one. I have faith that if it worked before, it can work again. It seems to be slow going moreso this time than before, but if I can do it again, it will be worth it.
Best of luck to you. This program does work. You just have to work the program.

Hey all, this is great news to hear. I've been on Klonopin for 10 years (.5 mg 2x/day). It was working great and then this spring/summer, all hell broke lose in my life and I ended up with anxiety/panic! I thought I had licked it and the rebound really stinks! I'm taking a Xanax as needed--usually every couple of weeks or so. My hope is the program will be the long-term answer. Everything I have read about dealing with anxiety and panic says that the very best line of defense is to use meds as needed but DEFINITELY do programs like this to deal with the root of the problem. Thanks everyone for alleviating my fears that I was going to be a junkie with a bucketload of CDs!
I really believe we are going to be the better for doing this program!

Good luck Penny. The program does work. But like most say, you really need to work at it.Originally posted by Penny G:I can't take anti-depressants either, they do nothing for me they don't help my pantic attack, They make me dizzy, lightheaded, I couldn't give pick my head off the pillow. so i wont take them, I do take Klonopin it is the only thing that helps, I use to beat myself up for needing medication I felt weak, With out it I wouldn't be hear today for I would not live with this 24/7 never ends, this is not somethig that passes, when I have an attack I have to take more medication or just want to die cant stand this feeling. Is anyone like me and did this program help you, I am looking for hopeOriginally posted by dwoods:
I take a pharmaceutical grade multi-vitamin twice a day that includes fish oil. It really helps. It may take a while to get through your system, but it will kick in and you will feel tons better. I can't take anti-depressants. That tried me on paxil and I just slept all day. I couldn't do it. The ativan helps as needed, but I'm trying to get off of that completely as well. The CD's will really help you. I was on my second CD and felt better.
P.S. I lived in Lancaster and Palmdale for many years.
I am on Klonopin.5mg....on in the morning and one at night and zoloft for almost 3 months now and I recently turned 21. I spoke to my doctor about drinking and he told me simply to not take the night dose when I do drink and just be careful of the amount bc you get drunk faster...I have drank Quite a few times and the only problems i noticed was increased physical shakeyness the next day until I took my medicine again....but that could also be from lack of sleep and dehydration that also comes with drinking and being in college...basically I'm saying I've had to problem but you may have to skip a dose or something like that... I know it's not exactly healthy but once in a while I don't see a problem with it and was told by my doctor it was not a problem.
