thank you so much for that information!
did you start at 10mg or work your way up?
i guess my biggest fear with side effects is getting DP/DR. I have liquid lexapro sitting on my counter. I hope I get up the courage soon.

thanks again!!!

I started at 10mg, but I have heard some people say that they started at 5mg for a few weeks and then upped to 10mg. Doing that will make the start up phase last longer but it may decrease SE, but it may not. The key to these meds is to give them at least a month to make a true assessment of how you feel. You may feel worse before you feel better. At week 4 I saw improvements so I stayed with it and by the 3rd month I can say I felt wonderful and still do. It all takes time. The meds help alot, but they are not a wonder pill and they take time, so be patient.

I have just started celexa and am too scared to death every time I have to take it but what I did to make it better is half my dose so I can work myself into it. Must be another control thing:) Really though-so far my side effects were a headache-slight-when it was time to take it again and I have really had some nice feelings of NO anxiety-thank GOD -I was a little anxious last night after taking it and woke up with my nightly panic shakes when I tremble all over for about 15-20 minutes but besides that which was probably brought on by me-I am trying to deal with it and know that it is best for me right now .If you'd like to talk more about it with me please let me know-ANGEL

Had some trouble with Celexa - generic. I started at 20mg, then backed down to 10. That seemed better, but when I went back up to 20 I felt even more anxious and shaky - night sweats as well. Just started Lexapro 10mg 2 days ago, and already feel better - so far no SE to note. Hang in there, but don't be afraid to change if needed.

I take Lex and I have to agree it is a great med for me, with little SE in the beginning, I have been on it 6 months and it has worked wonders for me, I feel totally like myself on it too.

Thanks for all the info. I have decided taking meds makes me too anxious right now. It completely stresses me out. So we've decided to eliminate it from my therapy for now and do a re-consideration of meds in about 60 days or so.

I've been on Celexa for 6.5 years and just recently had my first break through of anxiety. My side effects are fatigue and lack of energy and loss of sex drive.
