Yep, but I really want to seperate myself from anxiety....If I could be the person I used to be before anxiety for a little while, while being on lex, then I think when it's time to stop it should be an easy transition....I'm just all for getting my life back....For some reason the present moment is eluding me....But it may come back....Yes Iv'e been drinking almost everyday sun up sun down, gowing to work everything...I haven't touched it in a couple days....I'm hoping to wake up one morning feeling like me, the same way I woke up that August morning feeling like a train wreck!!!!

Bernard,
Hang in there buddy, you are going to make it through this and you will be ok. Since you're already on the Lexapro, I would stay on it for now but make sure you don't combine with alcohol otherwise it might not work like it’s supposed to.
Each person is different and it may take longer to take full effect. You are still the same person you were and you are going to come out of this just fine.
I want to share with you a nice email I got about 6 weeks ago when I was going through the worst part of my anxiety, it really helped me get through the rough times:
“Take a deep breath and let go of expectations about how this is suppose to go, just let the feeling of release flow from the top of your head all the way down to your toes”

Write this down and carry it with you at all times, read it often and think about it, it works!
Also keep working this Stress CBT course, it will help you but you have to keep after it and use the tools they are giving you. You will come through this and you are going to be fine.
Please keep posting and let us know how you are doing.
God Bless you my friend!

Hello--I don't mean to preach, but as someone who has mixed meds with other things, you really do not want to do that! It may make you feel better in the short run, but in the long run it makes the anxiety much worse and more intense. And like Don said, I found that it did not allow the meds to work as they should. It is scary how easily you can overdo something like that by accident...I hope that you are able to slow down and let the meds take effect the way they should be. You'll be okay

Hi, I have been on Lexapro for 3 weeks now and I don't know if its been long enough for the full effect. I still have bad days but they are fewer than before I started, on those days I use the Lorazapan. I am waiting for my tapes to arrive so I can get started. I really hope it works as the reason for this recent condition is that my 21 yr old son has been hospitalized with bi-polar schitzo-affective recently and I am wondering if the program can help someone with this disorder. Please let me know if anyone is dealing with the same. God Bless You and thanks for listening.
