difference between Ativan and Klonopin?

so is klonopin more like an ssri? I mean i know its a benzo but it sounds like it works so differently than ativan and xanax. Why does it take a week or two to work??

Hi Holly!
It worked immediately for me. Yeah, it's a benzo but it lasts around 12 hours. I have never had any bad experiences with it. I asked my doctor about addiction problems with it, and he said take it as prescribed and you won't have any problems with addictions. He also said to ignore any horror stories you hear about meds on the internet. You seem like a great person, hope this helps.

yes i think listening to horror stories makes me way more anxious and not what i need right now. I have been taking ativan everyday for almost 2 months now. i dont know if i mentioned that i take either .25 a day or.5 a day. one at night and once in the day. both always .25. and if i feel ok during the day i just take it at night to help sleep. My sleeping is so bad lately. the past month its been bad. before i slept good. . anyway, yeah mine says tale 1mg (or cutit in half to .5mg) every 8 hours. basically what i do. thanks for the replies everyone!
