I have been on zoloft for five months now and now that I am starting the program I will definitely be working toward the day that I can get away from it. What you have all shared is going to be very helpful for me. Thank you. Although the zoloft has been helpful in dampening the daily anxiety it has not helped with the situations that cause panic attacks. I will tell you this; zoloft has seriously effected my motivation.
Lots of anxiety isn't the word for it. I had more attacks while on it than off. Not to mention the medicine head feeling I walked around with. I swear I was more paranoid on it than w/out. Into the trash it went. I was a low dose too. Only 25mg. I'm scared of medicine too so I think my fears of taking medicine contributed alot. I'm sticking w/the program now and only Xanax as needed. Which isn't that much either. I got my Rx in Dec. of 2007 and still have half a bottle left.Originally posted by Matt S.:
I only took zoloft for a little over a month and I couldn't handle the side effects. Anyone experience LOTS of anxiety while taking this? I'm weaning off right now and I'm getting "electric jolts" in my legs and arms, and lots of anxiety.
I would'nt wean yourself off of zoloft without the help of your doctor. I have been on it for seven years now and with the help of my doctor and slowly weaning myself off of it but this process could take up to a year or more because I have been on it for so long. I would'nt ever dream of doing this without the help of my doctor.
