I've been on Prozac for 15 years, at 80 mg a day. I've been going through Lucinda's program, listening to other CBT programs and at the same time I've been seeing a psychiatrist for two years. I've felt better than ever since the program. I've changed how I think about perfectionism, what it means to succeed, how to forgive people, unrealistic expectations, how to be assertive, etc. I've also opened my closet and thrown out several skeletons.

So, after weaning off of the medication over the course of many months, last night was the final day. (My doctor knows all of this).

I've tried going off the medication before, but that was before Lucinda and before I started in on the therapy with my psychiatrist. Back then (a few years ago) I could barely leave the house.

I honestly thought I could never do this, but now I'm very hopeful for the future. It's entirely possible that I'll completely break down/freak out and need to go back on it after a few weeks, but I don't think that's going to happen because I don't think the same way I used to.

I'll keep everyone posted. Cross your fingers for me. :)

Good Luck and stay strong. Most important, don't be 'afraid' of feeling a setback, they do happen, but you will push through it! You should be very proud of yourself.
