i have recently come across some info about this medication and im curious if anyone has tried it. Im currently taking wellbutrin but i don't feel like it does anything for my depression. i have taken paxil and effexor in the past and they worked great for me except i was fed up with having no sex drive and unable to orgasm. i started taking wellbutrin because i heard it had a low risk of sexual side effects. i have been reading the same about pristiq but of coarse there are other reviews saying that it does have sexual side effects. im thinking about asking my dr. if try this med so any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I've been taking pristiq for 3 wks now. I haven't noticed if I'll be affected with sexual size effects yet. The paxil resulted in no orgasm, constipation, and I would sleep for 10 hrs. straight. The effexor made me so nervous and anxious the 1st day I stopped the medication. I also tried wellbutrin and that gave me headaches so I stopped that after a few days. It's difficult sometimes to find the right medication. You have to just try it out and see what works for you.

I too am curious about anyone taking pristiq. It is supposed to have less side effect profile than effexor. Would appreciate if there were anyone else willing to share actual experience with this med. Thanks.

Been on Pristiq for 9 weeks now. Still dealing with a lot of anxiety. Have good days and bad days. Switched cold turkey from Lexapro to Pristiq and went through hell for about 4-5 weeks. Not sure if the Pristiq is gonna help or how long it takes to level out. Sorry not much help from me :)

I haven't, but I hear it's similar to Effexor.

The thing is. . I just started Celexa which everyone says is just like Lexapro. However I was totally unable to handle Lexapro and so far Celexa has been tolerable (on day 3) with some side effects but nothing like Lexapro.

I guess they are all different in their own way.

Ive been taking pristiq for about 5 weeks with no sexual side effects at all. I was on paxil for 9 years with some side effects for a little while but everything leveled off. I really liked paxil it worked great for me, so great that i had no anxiety or depression for nine years. I thought i was over this disorder so i stop taking it. I was off the paxil for a little over a year and still felt great until i was asked to go to mexico and work for 6 months. I was good for the first 7 weeks but one saturday night i had a panic attack at movies and this horrible disorder that i defeated 9 years ago came back. So my doctor wanted me to try pristiq (50mg). I feel better with pristiq and the program which im on week 4 i think when i get back to the states in 2 weeks im going to ask the doctor about going back on paxil. Pristiq is pretty new and i dont know alot about it but i wish you luck if anybody decides to take it. I´ve beat Anxiety and depression before and i´ll beat it again. So everybody keep your head up and fight. You can defeat this.
