I was just curious what you all thought that the best and safest Antidepressent for Anxiety and panic attacks is. As I think I might have to go back on one for now. Just got of off Paxil 7 weeks ago. Thanks in advance Aaron

Celexa worked for me 10 years ago, but when I recently needed to go back on something for anxiety and panic atacks, it made me more anxious. Lexapro has been great - felt better in one day, and after two months am still feeling very good. No problems with side affects.

I have never tried any others. But Lexapro also works very well for me, within 2 weeks I felt much better and 7 months later I still feel well on it. I take 10mg. I take it for anxiety (GAD) and PMDD. I had some minor side effects in the start up phase but they werent anything bad. I know many others who have also had great results with Lex, it is known as the AD with the least amount of SE and it works rather quickly. But everyone is different and reacts differntly to meds so it can be a hit ir miss when trying AD'S.

I have tried paxil and effexor both worked well for me but i didnt like that it had sexual side effects. I heard about wellbutrin and its low risk of side effects, so i tried it and its working great for me. I started it 4 months ago. i felt better the first day i took it but had the dose increased to the max because i felt it wasn't working as well as it did when i started taking it. Wellbutrin also will help you quit smoking if your a smoker.

I heard Lexapro is good and it is prescribed often. For me, unfortunately, Lexapro didn't work so I now take this new anti-depressant names Pristiq. It is an SNRI, like Effexor. I am pretty sensitive to anti-depressants and this one had low side effects for me. I think it works well.

Different antidepressants work differently for everyone - I don't think there is a clear answer. If you know of anyone in your family who has been on antidepressants that worked for them, it might be a good choice to start with that.

I highly encourage you to work this program no matter what. Meds or no meds - the skills in the program are what make you better. ;)

I been taking Zantax, so far soo good, it takes 10 min to work, and I feel better so what. I been on lots of different meds there all about the same, They make about better 50% of the time sometimes, but the other 50% is gotta come from you in my opinion. Talk to your doctor.

Hi all,

What is the best anti-depressant?

Laughter

Why not try to find the joy that laughter can bring to you. No , ill side effects that I know except maybe p-ing on yourself might be a bit embarrassing, but nothing that a change of clothes can't take care of.
