I have been taking lexapro to help witht he anxiety attacks due to post traumatic stress after the passing of mywife. I am doing so much better and would like to discontinue its use. Is there a regimine for discontinuning. I am currently taking 10 mg daily.

I would say definitely talk to your prescribing doctor about this one and don't feel pushed into doing it too quickly.

I agree--don't rush off too soon, and I wouldn't advise stopping it cold turkey. Talk with your physician. That is a blessing that you are feeling so much better!

I agree, talk to your Doctor about coming off the Lexapro. Your Doctor will help you with tapering off the antidepressant meds.
I am sorry about the pasting of your wife. Yet, I am happy you are doing so much better. Happy New Year!!!!

I take 10mg as well. I have never weaned as I find the meds are really doing thier job for me and I too feel much better on them. I would talk to your doc about a weaning schedule and I would wean VERY gradually and slowly so those old feeling dont creep back fast. Good luck.
