anyone ever taken yaz
Hi Kriskam - I have been taking Yaz for about 5 months or so after being on yasmin for almost 5 years. I had terrible migraines each month and needed something, YAZ helpes a bunch with PMDD. I do not feel a difference in Yaz lowering my anxiety. I take Luvox 300mg per day and Ativan (when needed). My anxiety is through the roof the week before my period so Yaz may not be a the answer, at least not for me,,,,,sorry!
I have been on Yaz for a year and a half or so. I definitely notice that my anxiety and depression especially are escalated right before I start. I don't even need a calendar to recognize when it's getting to that time because I can tell by my mood. I've heard of someone who switched meds for this reason, and she wasn't a anxiety/depression sufferer.
I often wondered about Yaz and how it worked. I had the weirdest thing to happen to me after pregnancy almost 4 years ago. I had been taking a B/C pill for years to help with PMS etc. After I had the baby, I tried to get back on the pill and noticed that I was having severe panic attacks-I am not sure if it was because I already have anxiety and was going through post-partum or if it was in fact the pill. My heart would race so fast! My OB/GYN suggested that I wait for a month and try again so I did and the SAME thing happened again. I was too afraid to try anymore. Now it has me afraid to try any B/C pill because I am afraid that I am unable to handle them all of a sudden. I know that your body changes after birthing a child but I am noticing that PMS is getting worse and worse each month for me. I notice headaches, irritability, crying, and various ailments within 2 weeks that I am due to have my cycle. It's just like clock work.I feel that I need to take something to help with these problems but afraid of the side effects!
I can't believe this....I have taken yaz for four months and my self medicating with alcohol for my panic and migraine gets sooooooo bad about a week before I start. I will be calling a doctor friend about this. See you learn so much by just reading here....I have wondered why I have fallen down so far in these months. Thanks
I have been on yaz for 5 months now. I was prescribed it for my PMDD. It had made my periods way shorter and my skin doesnt break out any more. Also, My breasts got a cup size bigger and i think it made me gain weight but i dont mind that. A week or so before my period my anxiety and depression flare up big time. I always know before i have my period because of the anxiety and depression i get. It sucks but i knew yaz wouldnt be the solution. I do feel though that when i was on ortho tri cyclin LO it helped more for the anxiety and depression but not so much for my skin. I am also on ativan, buspar and an anti depressant called pristiq.
ANGELS CAN FLY BECAUSE THEY TAKE THEMSELVES LIGHTLY
I started Yaz cause the psychologist said it would help my mood. The day I started taking it I got a really bad headache. I kept on taking it for a few days till I went to see my regular medical dr. She told me to stop taking it, that it was causing the headaches, and it was too much hormones for me. I also was taking Prozac and Wellbuturin for my depression. I had headaches for like a week straight, it was horrible. Also for that week I was on Yaz I seemed to be more anxious and depressed. I haven't been on any birth control since but my dr suggested Seasonale for me. We'll see what happens, I'll let you know.
