Thank you guys for answering my question!
It gives me confidence to start the med!
I will probably start with 2mg of liquid lex : )

One more question, did most of you have panic or anxiety? I think I have GAD, I do not feel anxious everyday yet I feel symptomatic everyday. I have heard that lex works well with depression.

Thanks!!!

I dont take it for depression I take it for GAD and PMDD, I would get some anxiety but it wasnt too bad I was just a worrier by nature and had severe PMS 2 weeks out of the month. I have none of that now, no worrying and no pms.

I just started taking Lexapro 3 months ago at 10 and then it wasn't working and I went to 15. It has done wonders. I have not had any hot flashes that I can't handle I'm also on Klopin 1 mil and it helps me sleep and put my mind at ease. I might go back down to taking 10 we will see.

I love hearing all of these success stories!

After nine years of suffering and contemplating meds, I finally took one mg last night! ha ha I know it sounds ridiculous but for me it was huge!!! It is a start in the right direction, a start at a new life of freedom : ) I do lot's of things but not without fear and symptoms. Little things like restaurants are difficult. However I did make it through a 2 1/2 hour dental appointment!!!!

Anyway, I hope I can continue taking it daily and slowly move up to 5mg. I have a vivid imagination and am fearful of the med doing all sorts of crazy things to my mind!

Thanks!!!

I just started the program today. I have taken many meds over the past 10 years. Celexa, Serzone, Effexor XR, Paxil, Paxil CR, and now Lexapro for about a month. Also taking Klonopin and Abilify. I've been taking Klonopin for about 7 years and want to get off of it. That's why my current doctor prescribed Abilify. I don't like Klonopin because I read that it's addictive. It seems to be true since my anxiety gets worse every time I try to stop taking it. I cut back very gradually over weeks, but I'm still taking .25mg per day. The Lexapro seems to be a big improvement over the Paxil CR. That made me so sleepy. Recently, I've had much more energy than I've had in a long time. For me, I can't wait to be rid of the Klonopin, but will stay with the Lexapro/Abilify while working through this program. My goal, which I expect to achive, is to feel happy about being alive and DRUG FREE. Good luck to everyone!

I'm on both Lexapro (30 mg daily) and Klonopin (2 mg 3 times daily) as well as an adhd medication. When I was only being treated for depression Lexapro was the greatest thing since sliced bread. It is more expensive than a "mirror image' generic (citalopram), but I don't have much luck with the citalopram -- if I COULD I could save $80 over 3 months in RX charges but the Lexapro is definitely worth it for me.

I'm on 2 mg Klonopin 3 times daily, and don't experience any side effects if I skip doses on the weekends. I'm also on Lexapro, my doctor prescribed Abilify for me but even with insurance it was not affordable...OVER $80 A MONTH!! So I'm sticking to what really seems to be working, Dexedrine, Klonopin and Lexapro. I have ADHD, several anxiety disorders and OCP (not OCD)
