Loretta, I'm not a doctor by any means but I've been there done that with Paxil and just to let you know be very, very careful even after just starting it and trying to quit. I have more problems today because of Paxil then when I orginally started taking it. Just know if it does work it is only a short term fix (no matter what your doctor tries to convince you otherwise) Please seek other alternatives. Whatever you do, DO NOT just quit taking it cold turkey!!!!
Hi Loretta,
I was on Paxil for about 2 years and it did really help with my anxiety and panic attacks. I didn't find it helped with my depression so much.
It does take time for your body and brain to adjust to any meds used for these problems and it's different for each person. The word normal is different also for everyone. We each have our own idea as to what normal is so I will just say that if you have concerns about how long the med should take to make you feel better or if the feelings you have concern you then talk to your pharmacist and your doctor. I find personally if I want info on a med that my pharmacist generally has better info and is more experienced with all meds, side affects, and most questions. That's just my 2 cents worth.
I have been off Paxil for over 3 months now and am using the program. I had withdrawal symptoms for a while but am now over them, again we are all different. Do Not Stop Taking It Without A Doctors Help !!!
Good Luck,
BELIEVE, EACH DAY WILL GET BETTER!!

I had no way of knowing this, sorry if my reply offended you in any way. I did not say you had panic attacks, I simply said I did.Originally posted by loretta west:

Best Of Luck To You

"O God, you are my God. Earnestly I seek you;my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is BETTER than life,my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name, I will lift up my hands." Psalms 63
