Hey everyone, this is my first time posting. I experienced my first anxiety attack/period in Feb of 2008 and didn't feel like I was coming out of it until June 2008. I have never experienced anything like that ever. I lost 10 lbs in two weeks. I recently miscarried our second child and had alot in a short period of time. I have always been the strong one and able to handle EVERYTHING. This really threw me. I went to my doctor and she put me on Setraline - generic for Zoloft. The lower doses didnt seem to do anything until we bumpd it to 100 mgs. I am now down to 50 mgs and feel really good. I am going to call and ask for the 25 mgs and then go off completely. I feel like I am myself again and I want to have the life tools to handle any future experiences wo medication.
While going thru this stretch of time, I thought I was going to die, and that everything was falling apart. I had the hand shakes, the sleeplessness, heart palpatations and night sweats and lethargy.
I feel like I am back to myself. I am happy to have this resource and to be able to get off the meds so we can try for another child.
Does anyone know about any lasting affects of Setraline with regard to pregnancy?
Thanks for all the support and I look forward to being there for you.

Welcome to the community.there are alot of wonderful people on here. They have always made
me feel welcomed. In regards to your question you may want to look at the parent to parent section. I was actually just on there and they have a topic about pregnant woman and taking meds. It's 3 pages long but on the 3rd page someone actually posted something this morning.
the topic reads "All pregnant people w/ anxiety"
I hope that helps. goodluck with everything

I took Zoloft the ENTIRE time I was pregnant. From conception until birth and beyond.

She's cognitively astute. Grows well and has a wonderful personality. She's a little over 3 and a gem. From personal experience I can say, it's safe. I've also been told by numerous *(at LEAST 5 medical professionals in California, Wisconsin and Illinois) that taking Zoloft is the safest of the drugs to take while pregnant and nursing.

I breast fed my daughter successfully for 15 months - again, all taking Zoloft.
