Has anyone ever taken xanax or ativan while being pregnant? Do you know if there are any other safer alternatives? Thanks!

I was told you can't take xanax while pregnant. Have you consulted a doctor?

I took xanax while TTC, however stopped the day I found out I was pregnant. I did my first trimester med-free (that was very hard for me though) and was put on Zoloft in my second trimester.

Xanax is a Class D pregnancy drug, and should be avoided if possible.

Hi, i am 6 months pregnant and currently taking Celexa which has helped a lot, very much!! I havent heard anything about Xanax but talk to your doctor! There are several ways to treat anxiety and depression during pregnancy! E-mail me if you have any questions or support!!!

I just had a baby one month ago and i took Klonopin during the entire duration of my pregnancy. My baby turned out totally normal. So, if you are having constant anxiety attacks and not taking medicine, then the panic attacks probably will affect your baby more than the medication. Remember that the baby experiences everything you do.. and when you are not getting oxygen due to hyperventilating..that is probably alot worse than a low dose of a benzo. I do know that Ativan is approved to take while you are pregnant if you want to go on a less potent one.
I hope your pregnancy goes well!
