basically, i have never actually taken one everday. maybe every 3 days and i still cut it in fourths and take the quarter. BUT recently iv been SO panicy that the past 3 days iv been taking .5mgs a day. i cut my 1 mg in half. but i take .25 in the day time to get through the day and one at night. Is that terrible? Im scared to be taking them everyday but i feel at this point i really need them and they help me so well and i KNOW that i wont abuse them. . . I start the program tomorrow so maybe soon i wont need to take an ativan everyday. Just curious id anyone else takes one everyday and if its bad to do that. It just makes me nervous but they really do help me. thanks

I would be careful about taking ativan or any other benzo on a regular basis because they can be physically adddicting. I have a prescription for Xanax, which is similar to ativan, and I was told that it is okay for occasional use, but not to rely on it on a regular basis. Use the program and you may not need the medication as much or ever again. Talk with your doctor too about ativan if you feel you are becoming dependent.

I would agree with aleisa...if you do not have to take it everyday don't any thing longer then 2-3 weeks you would probably need to slowly taper off so you don't have horrible withdrawls...some peoples GABA receptors take longer to recover and can put a good shlacking on your body, mind, and spirit when they get abruptly stopped, then have to make up for it....but work the program and then when yo feel better try to not depend on it
