I was told by a naturopathic about the dangers of amalgam fillings and that they cause anxiety. So, of course I banked on this being the cause of my anxiety. I just had ALL fillings removed and was taking supplements to support the mercury exposure. I began weening off of my Effexor at the same time. I crashed exactly 1 week ago. I was at 75mg of effexor and now am up to 150mg/day. But don't know what to do about the mercury now. Anyone ever do this? I just don't know what to do, because I still need to get the mercury out of my system (settles in the brain), but my panic is back. Help!

I had all my almagams removed last September. I too worried about the residual mercury floating around in my system. I am not and was not on meds at that time though. My doctor suggested I do a heavy metal cleanse to get the residual mercury out. Check with your naturopath and whomever prescribed your Effexor and see if a heavy metal cleanse will be safe. At times herbs and prescription meds do NOT mix. Always check first.
