I take 50mg of Celexa every day and have pretty much zero interest in sex. When I think about it, it sounds like fun but when it come down to doing it, I'm just bored.

Anyone else in the same situation?

Anyone on meds that DON'T take away their sex drive?

I want to want to have sex again... :-(

I'm on 5 mg of Lexapro and 1.5 mg of Lorazepam a day, and my sex drive has gone down the toilet, too. Although, I do feel a lot less anxious and depressed, and I'm able to focus on the program - so for the time being, I guess no sex drive isn't all that bad. It will come back:).

Well, until recently, my meds were working beautifully for me too. I haven't had a panic attack in 6.5 years (until 2.5 weeks ago).

I've been single for almost 5 years so not having a sex drive hasn't been a big deal but I recently (1.5 months ago) started seeing this guy that I really like and he's wanting to get more and more intimate. I like kissing him and stuff but when it comes to sexual contact, I'm pretty much not interested. He's self conscious as it is and I know he thinks it's him. :-(

I take Librium and it doesn't make me rummy or tired. It just keeps me on an even level. I took Xanax before and it made me out of it & sleepy. Ask your Dr. if you want to try it. I tried Lexapro years ago but it didn't help my anxiety. Have you talked to your Dr. about how your med is effecting your sex drive and see what else he can put you on?

She said there's this new one I can try but that I have to get down to 10mg of my Celexa before she can start me on something else. I'm on 50mg now so the thought of going that low is absoloutely terrifying! I want to get through this program first before I do something like that so I have the skills to cope if the feelings start to temporarily come back while I'm in med transition.

I take 10 mg of Lex. and I dont have much of a sex drive, but I didnt have much of one before either so I would say it is about the same for me, maybe decreased it abit. The Lex works great for me so I dont care if it decreases it abit. When we do have sex I can get into to and it feels great, its just gettting up the energy to do it, but that has always been my issue.
Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.

buspar is a good med. It has a lot less side effects.

Hi there....I have been on Wellbutrin for the last 8 years as well as Buspar. It was working fine for me, didn't bother my sex drive, made me a little calmer until recently. That's when I decided to get this program. My symptoms were getting so bad (diarrhea) at work that I decided the meds just weren't doing it anymore. Since I started the program (just since Friday) I feel much better and know there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and hopefully won't be on the meds forever. Hang in there, some days are better than others aren't they?
