When I first started Effexor it took 3 weeks before I starting feeling better. Over a course of several months my doctor raised me to 300mg. It has helped a great deal but I am still having some depression come through. That's why I'm taking this course. rkingiowa

I have been on Effexor XR 150mg daily and I still have good days and the bad ones. I been on them for about 2-3 years and I am actually going to talk to my doctor about getting off of them. Have you had any side effects on them? Best wishes.

I dont care for drugs that work on both Serotonin and Norepinephrine. How do you know where your problem lies. The Serotonin part of the drug can you better, where as the Norepinrine reuptake inhibition can make you worse, actually knocking out the good effects you would see with the Serotonin.

I personally believe in playing with one neurotransmitter at a time. Effexor plays with two. Just my thoughts.
