I recently became aware that I have been addicted to ativan for about 6 years. I was prescribed it for anxiety and panic 6 years ago, but became very addicted. (craving, and manipulating people to get it) I have completed an outpatient treatment program and have got off to a good start with AA and NA. I go to about 5 meetings a week, got a sponsor and work on my 12 steps. I do still have an untreated social anxiety disorder however and now have to deal with addiction to. I am doing better but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with working this program and also working the 12 steps at the same time. Is it too much, or is it possible? Thank you

3321,
I have had and do still have problems with addiction. It's a struggle but you take it one day at a time. It sounds like you are headed in the right direction and making great progress. I am new to the program but am excited about working through it. So to answer your question, YES, it is possible, it's possible to do anything you put your mind and efforts into. Good luck to you!
