My 16 year old sister has been rx'ed cymbalta. It is not approved for people under 18. I'm wondering if anyone here has a kid on cymbalta. I'm concerned for her.

I understand your concern. My daughter has anxiety and we needed to put her on something but most drugs are not approved for under 18. I took her to a psychiatrist and he put her on Lexapro (one of the newer drugs for anxiety and depression). It has helped her a good deal. She had gotten to the point where she wouldn't go to school and now does and just seems more comfortable. The most important thing is to be sure your sister is monitored carefully especially when she first starts taking the med.
