I used 5-htp for about 6 months last year. It did help me but I took it under the supervision of my alternative med. dr. I believe you have to be careful even with natural supplements. I have had bad reactions to a few. But the 5-htp did help and I am thinking of taking it again for awhile. It is an amino acid that helps build serotonin in your body. Kind of like a natural alternative to Lexapro or Zoloft. Hope that helps. :) Oh, BTW, I took it for anxiety.

Yes, I am presently taking the Positive mood pills they had sent, also St Johns Wort and Sublingual B tabs.....You must understand that results are different with people. MSM is another used for mood. To get optimum effects from any Herb it must be used for some time..patience is key here.....I have great results with St Johns and the B vitamin. Also
cutting down on salt, sugar, junk foods, and too much meat.....moderation is key. I feel MUCH better after eating Salmon 2-3 times a week. Using herbs/supplements should go hand in hand with adequate exercise, getting out into the sunshine, and good nutrition. If exercise is out of the question.....simple stretching yoga can be done. It has helped me incredibly in the past......creamcheese
