Hey folks, hope all is well. So I am in week 6 of the program and feeling great. I am seeing the world differently and won a big battle that I mentioned earlier in the forum. Even with the win I still felt the rush of the anxiety. I calmed myself through it but would love going back to the good 'ole days of not feeling a thing before public speaking. From day 1 I said no medicine. I do not know much about the prescriptions but did not want to have what I call a mind altering drug as part of my daily routine. I only have these rushes 2 or 3 times a week and they are brief. I figured I could live through it.
However, I spoke with a friend who is a local doc. In the process I was told that taking buspar could take some of the edge off the attacks if they do happen. I likened it to someone taking something to calm the stomach before taking an airplace flight. I did get the prescription but figured I would only take one before a speaking engagement or doing something that creates anxiety if I feel it coming on.
Can anyone give me information? Should I bother taking them? After beating anxiety the other night should I just stick to what I am doing?

I have taken this drug for quite a long time. It has been around forever and is very safe. It does take the edge off if I have a sudden panic attack. I would recommend it.
