I started the program today, I have been in therapy for almost 5 years now. I have chronic PTSD etc....My doc has me on clonazepam, zyprexa, and prozac for anxiety and depression. The zyprexa was started because I was drug resistant, it is suppose to make the other pills work??? I have adult ADD and take concerta so I can focus on my depression, anxiety and flashbacks!! I don't want to take pills but I have now for about 5 years, maybe they have saved my life or maybe they just make me feel flat with very little emotion and no energy. I am now widowed so I live alone with no one to talk to.

Does anyone have any ideas or comments? Thanks in advance for your support.

ALCO--I'm glad that you are here and have the program. I just recently received the CDs, but am not a stranger to some of these "feelings" we all suffer from one way or another.

I'm so sorry for you loss. I lost a son several years ago and miss him. I know in my heart he is okay, but that doesn't mean I still don't love him and miss him.

This son suffered from ADHD and depression so I understand a little bit about ADD. I have suffered from depression and most recently panic attacks and anxiety. Part of it might be due to the hormonal change in women's life.

And also that I don't like changes very much. I have high expectations of myself and others and have Magical thinking as Lucinda says, and I get disappointed a lot. I've been on anti-depressants for a long time definitely over 10 years. I did weaned myself off and it lasted for 2 months until I had a panic attack.

Anyway, I hope to hear more from you. Paislee :)

Hi there,

I have been on a similar mixture of drugs - Clonozapam, Pristiq, and Abilify. The Abilify was to augment the Pristiq I believe. I had to get off the Abilify because I was having sleep problems. I have a history of treatment-resistent depression in my family ahd have had some relatives who had to be hospitalized. The Pristiq didn't do that much for me so now I am weaning off that and am going to go on an MAOI. The withdrawal process has been awful and it is all I can do to drag myself to work every day. But I really believe the MAOI will help me - it was the only drug that helped my mom. I would just be persistent with your doctor if you aren't feeling like these drugs are helping. Also, I believe I need this program too to change my negative thinking.

Michele

Michele-I saw a special on depression and a girl that had resistant depression. She had electric shock treatments and it took several to finally work for her. They showed her later having recovered and packing up to go to college away from home. Of course, her mother was hesitant but happy for her.

Her identical twin sister didn't have this problem and had already left home for a year of college. Anyway, it was a good program explaining how the brain works and the new treatments that are available for certain conditions.
