I started taking xanax a couple months ago at bedtime to help me sleep. I take 1/2 a .25 mg. tablet. After about 6 weeks I noticed that I was actually starting to have more anxiety. At first I felt great, was sleeping and felt like the drug stayed in my system keeping me calm the next day too. But now, I notice that I'm feeling worse anxiety once the drug wears off. It's like my body is withdrawling and wanting more. Has anyone else experienced this with Xanax?

Xanax is a highly addictive drug with bad withdrawl effects. It's kind of like snorting cocaine. You feel great while on the drug, but when it wears off it's like hell. I'm a former drug addict, who knows all about drugs. Xanex is effective in treating anxiety, but is highly devistating when addicted. You become dependent on it.
