Remember that I am in the mini-chat every Friday from 12-1 p.m. EDT and 9-10 p.m. on Sunday.

I would love to talk with you!! Even if you don't want to chime in and chat it's still a good first step to listen in and hear how others are learning to cope and change.

We are here to help.

Hi Coach. I have such a hard time being in the moment. When I saw my Therapist this week, she told me she gets the feeling that I live in the past to much. I also bought the book from Panic To Power. I really like it. The first day I got it it was hard to put down to go to sleep. I really need some help or something, Cause I feel like I am never going to get better. I am on alot of meds and go to groups and Therapy. I have been struggling with this Anxiety and Panic attacks since 2004. I go to chat and ur not on . I can't afford thew personal coaching. Please help me!!!!

Hi Merta,

Thank you for your reaching out. It sounds like you have put a lot into understanding your anxiety. What would be one baby step you could take and have success with? It's important for us to be able to become our safe person and build confidence. What action could you take that would give you some 'control' this week?

I look forward to your reply.

Happy Saturday Everyone :)

I have been reading Brene Brown's book, Daring Greatly, and it has been quite challenging for me. She talks about being vulnerable, authentic, courageous and connected. She writes about how important it is to know that we are enough and how shame and guilt has kept us from discovering who we really are. I found it really tied into lessons 3 and 4 of the AA & D program. Here is a great talk she gave if you would like to hear more. I highly recommend it.

Hi Coach Chris,

I am on week 7 of the program and feel like it is helping a great deal but I notice that if a fearful thought gets in and hits me in the gut it can take several days for me to shake it. I was out on Saturday night and my moms friend was talking about a topic that scares me, two seconds later it felt like it was in my stomach. How can I prevent thoughts from affecting me like this?

thank you!

Hi Healing,

Thank you for your great question. This is a common experience for many. Our first response should be the under-reacting and floating with adrenalin. The body takes time to drain out all of that extra adrenalin we have had, so be patient with it as you continue your program and your healing. If you find yourself fighting or fearing the adrenalin I would review lesson 2 and really practice your 6 steps. A lot of times when this happens we start to question everything. Why is this here, when will it leave, what am I doing wrong, I should be over this by now...etc. Be assertive with your selftalk here and move out of the negatives into your positive truths. Lastly, you are also just approaching the lessons on worry that will give you additional tools and truths to shift out of the worry and back into the present moment positives. Remember, you are in control. When a negative/lie comes in or the adrenalin rises you get to choose how you respond to it. Let the adrenalin signal you to keep thought shifting. Keep up the great work.

Let us know if you need anything.
We are here to help.
