I am so glad to have found this thread. I finished the program a month ago. I had started and stopped it so many times over the last so many years but could never finish, just to darn hard. I started the coach program last dec. I had a wonderful coach, Toni Kusak, who was phenomenal. She had me to see that i too was creating my own misery not everyone else.
I am doing a lot of things I can't even believe I am doing now. But I have started to notice some anxiety creeping in about my driving abilities. But I just recently orederd carolyn's driving tape so please God it will help.
I have half hearted restarted the progarm again. But not really progressing to far. I think I will do as Gigi suggested begin to write down suggestions form the program and mount them in places that I can periodicaly review.
I have written down a few things when I was working with my coach and hung them on my bathroom mirror, my laundry room, places where I frequently visit. It helps me to refocus.
I am delighted to hear slim that you are soaring in your new life. It has inspired me to restart the program.
Take care and God Bless everyone.
Idea for Avoiding a Relapse

It's been said that our scary voice has a big eraser and it's really important to read and re-read something (even if it bores us) approximately 8 times. Many of the things we read "slips" our minds. So go over the program as often as you can. It is a lifestyle change.
I really believe that you are cured when you no longer care one way or the other if you have anxiety. When you acknowledge that you may have it off and on throughout your life it no longer is an issue. You accept and you know that you will handle it - no matter what it's about and no matter when it occurs.
Good thread....

Thanks so much slimjim! I just finished going through the program a month ago, and as much as it has helped me, I still feel that I have not quite gotten "back on that horse" and started going after the things that I want. I am considering doing the coaching program, and hopefully then I will finally kick this disease to the curb!

To all of you who have decided to get back on course with the program. Congratulations and Damn the Torpedos and Full Steam Ahead. Hee Hee I heard that on a Submarine Movie years ago and I believe that that's what a person in recovery has to think about when you have to go up against just a sneaky invisible foe! Your Negative thoughts will do their darnest to dig in and convince you that you NEEEED THEEEM! Don't fall for their LIES! You like the rest of the world need to take off the Rose Colored Glasses and see where you are at this time in your life. When I started to realize that the Enemy was me and my nasty negative thinkingwas ruining my life then I was ready to do battle with it and the many recovery books I've read tells me that this is a Blessing not a Curse! To figure why you keep running off the tracks to your life is just the beginning! The hardest part is to say NO MORE! THIS IS MY LIFE AND I'M NOT GOING TO PISS IT AWAY ANY LONGER! Then start to read one page a day in the program. OH and have a dictionary with you because like me I wasn't the sharpest tool in the tool shed. And when I came upon a word I wasn't sure I knew what it meant or why the author used it in the last sentence then I looked it up and went OH...So that's what they mean. Cool! Oh one my thing about me. I am Dyslixic so no one knew this about me when I was in school so I was put in the SLOW LEARNERS CLASS. But years later as I started to reeducate myself by reading on my own then I discovered my condition and the more I read the better I got to fix it. So go for it!

Boon, it has been a long time since you posted your advice of dealing with anxiety. You were right on that we all may have to deal with it off and on throughout life, and hopefully it won't be an issue. I had a setback or relaspe this past week, and I was shocked that it happened because I had been feeling great for about 10 months. I hadn't completed the program because I felt so good, I still need to complete lessons 13-15. I think the program led me to believe that my anxiety would be 'cured'. But, in reality anxiety both good and bad will always be with us, it is how we control it. That is the answer. You wrote that when we no longer care if we have anxiety then we are cured. You may never see my post as your post was so long ago, but you helped my considerably. Thank you.
