I have chosen not to use medication to treat my anxiety/depression. Instead i have tried to educate myself with with things like Lucindas program and a lot of other things. There seems to be a kind of underlying theme that you can rid yourself of the anxiety by learning to react to it differently. I have noticed that this method helps but I still feal crapy and at times discouraged that I am not seeing more progress. Anyone relate? Any advice as to how I might speed up my recovery?

I had very similar thoughts...but I started Paxil as I guess I see it as a "tool" along with the program...it has been helpful. If you really feel like crap it is not a "bad" thing to consider, just see medicine as a tool, this does not mean a life long use but rather a way to help jump start the process, it IS NOT a sign of weakness, actually I see it as the opposite, as a sign of strength...to use all of God's tools that He provides..take care

About 6 yrs ago I started having bad anxiety attacks. Thought about the program, but never ordered it. I did get medicated, but on what I dont remember, I only took it when needed. Anyway I got out of the situation I was in and it went away. 6 yrs later here I am again, same sort of circumstances, but this time I decided no Meds. I did decide to order the program, I also believe it is working, repetition is the key, and some awful great support from family and friends and everyone here at the forum. Stick with it, it works.

I stopped any meds I was taking when I began the program last Feb and haven't taken any since. I do believe the program is the reason that I haven't gone back to them, even with all the stress I've been under with the current financial crises. My stress level has been pretty high, but I learned from the program that I have the tools to cope with this without the meds. I allow myself to feel the uncomfortableness of the anxiety instead of trying to eliminate it right away with meds, and now I am ok with it. The more I was fighting the anxiety the longer it was hanging around. It's challenging to say the least, but very possible as I'm coming to see that yes we can co exist with some anxiety and still be ok.

I was on medication for depression and anxiety for 16 years. I find that it treated the syptoms, not the disorder. I have been med free for four months now and I am learning to cope. I bought the program last year and did not begin really working it until 4 weeks ago. I do see a difference already, pinkee

hello fergus! i myself is not taking any meds also. i started feeling this way about a month ago and on my session 2 on the program. at first it was hard but eventually, you'll be able to find a way to make u feel good. i really didn't wanna take meds (aside from the side effects, i'm not insured). there r days that i feel anxious but i always manage. i do take Good days pills though and that helps out a lot. just hang in there and we'll make it :)

Hello, everyone - I too have had problems with prescribed medicines so have stopped taking a few of them. My problem with prescribed medicine is that it would make me worse than the original symptoms. Consequently, it would cause anxiety and worry. I'm in the process of learning about alternative medicine and have started taking a few of them. Had great news this week about some serious tests I had taken - it turned out that I am really ok. Appreciate so much the relaxation tape and this problem. We will survive and become better persons, I know.

My fingers got a little anxious with my post - meant to say program instead of problem.
Apologize deeply.

Yes I truly believe most can stop or not have to take meds thanks to this wonderfull program. I'm not taking and AD's now and feel much more alive, not like a zombie and have motivation I didn't have when on AD's.

I too was told I would be on meds for the rest of my life. WRONG!!

I hope everyone can be free of drugs one day. They work great for some and do help some but aren't for everyone.

Best of luck to all of you. :)
BELIEVE YOU CAN CONQUER ANYTHING~ AND YOU WILL !! I DID IT, YES !!!!!
