I have a battle to overcome with my coffee addiction in the morning! I cannot think clearly without having my coffee in the morning, I used to be dead to the world before i started drinking coffee every morning. Now the program wants me to stop drinking that along with the sodas and sugars they produce which is fine with me, I can except that but the coffee thing is sooooo hard! I dont know if its because im depressed and the coffee makes me happier with better thoughts and feelings!? What can i replace coffee with to get me going in the morning?! Any thoughts would be very much obliged!

Hey there! I'm a self-diagnosed coffee connoisseur and lover! I am having a wicked hard time getting off the coffee.

May I suggest tapering? Make a chart, literally. Today...you drank how many cups of coffee?

Tomorrow, drink 0.5 cups less and note: how do you feel?

Next day: still drink just 0.5 cups less: note again: how do you feel?

Keep doing this day after day and s.l.o.w.l.y. adjust down to 0.0 -OR- mix decaf in with caffeinated.

Half-Caf.

Keep us posted and good luck. It's a demon!

When I quit coffee,I was drinking about 5 cups a day. I am on the road all the time and it is so easy to pull into Dunkin Donuts, how I started to cut back was, I went from large to med, then to small. I cut the number of coffee's out slowly, because you can get bad headaches if you quit cold turkey. I also started to order my coffee half reg coffee and half decaf, then I just went to all decaf, I truely like the taste of coffee so I could not give it up all together. I know there is a small amount of caffine in the decaf, but I can live with that. Hope this helps you.

I tried decaf, and I thought, I don't like this. I have two glass containers, one contains regular coffee, the other decaf. A couple of weeks ago I accidentally brewed up the decaf and didn't know the difference. The containers look exactly alike, I just kept them in different places. Now, I really don't know which is which, and I cannot tell.

I was an avid coffee drinker, 7 plus a day. I just stopped cold turkey, and switched to decaf, which I didnt think I would ever do. Its been 5 months without regualr coffee. I still miss it, but feel alot better and am able to sleep better as well, which is a plus!

I would suggest you start switch to decaf coffee.. See how you feel. I drink decaf coffee every morning.
