Hi all
I'm finishing session 3 - but for some reason I cannot write down the negative thoughts I've been experiencing. I want to - but I just can't bring myself to put them on paper. I've made every excuse in the book not to do it.
Anyone else experience this or does anyone have any thoughts on how to get past this?
Thanks!

The leaves are changing - and so am I.

Why not write one down now? Type it here and we'll help you with the positive, more balanced re-write. Awaiting your reply...

Marybc,

You can do it! I have to say that writing these down really is one of the key things we all must do to lick this "condition". Baby steps. Do you know what it is that you are afraid of? Are you afraid of admitting what they are on paper? Are you afraid you won't be able to come up with a replacement thought? Are you just afraid you won't do it right? You are obviously afraid of something - I'm just not sure what it is. Why don't you try writing about your fear here, so we can try to help you? I can assure you, whatever it is, you are not the first to feel it.

Everyone here is giving you good advice and encouragement. I am moving on to Session 14 in two days and I can let you know this: Future sessions will have homework which sends you back to your journals (and your negative thinking). Your journaling now will be part of future homework. Do try. Best wishes to you and your progress.

pecos, thanks for the heads-up. i also just finished session three and have been debating all day in my mind whether i would actually write down my negative thoughts. knowing that later sessions refer to the journal and negative thoughts sealed the deal..i'm getting out a notebook right now :)
