This Memorial Day Weekend will be a year since I got off my medication! I was in the middle of doing the program and the week prior I spoke to many pharmacists (my doctor told me to just stop taking my antidepressant! when I did that the last time my anxiety got soooo much worse!!) I safely tapered. ( I was on Paxil 10mg). I'll never forget, we were at an amusement park and I went on this ride-I got soo sick to my stomach and my head felt weird. I didn't know if it was the ride or going off my antidepressant and it was also like 90 degrees outside!! When I got home I slept for like 2 hours-so not like me. I remember really wondering if I could do it but I kept giving myself positive statements about how great I was going to feel if I accomplished that goal. And it does feel great. I've recently started the program again to really concentrate on the sections I have problems with. I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day Weekend and take care of yourselves-we are all worth it!!!

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm on session 3. I have been noticing the negative self-talk I have. I'm trying but it feels too hard at times. Other times I feel the positive talk helping, changing me. It's kinda weird. Did you ever feel that way?

Congratulations Karmerri, I hope to get off of risperdal soon as I have been on it since about 1995. Great that you did it!

thank you everybody-thank you for congratulating me AND helping me! merryheart-that is very normal to feel that way when first learing to change the negatives to positives-in fact, depending on the severity of the situation that's bothering me, I can still feel that way at times! This sounds funny, but when I first started the program, I beat myself up constantly that I wasn't doing it right! That really made changing the neg to pos so hard but as I eased up on myself, it got easier. Good Luck!
