I was just wondering for those of you that fight panic/anxiety attacks on a daily basis for what seems like 24/7 do you find yourself yawning or sighing frequently especially when you feel the panic/anxiety coming on and during the attack? I have had a pretty good day today until about an hour ago. We had baked chicken (Walmart brand shake n bake) for supper and it has bloated me up and kind of made me sick to my stomach. When I bloat up after eating certain foods it makes it uncomfortable for me like I have my clothes on to tight which gives me this feeling like I am short of breathe which I know I am not. Because I let myself get so worked up over this I find that I do a lot of sighing and yawning until I start calming down and my stomach settles a bit. If anyone else here can relate to this please let me know so that I know its not just me who experiences this. Thank you.
God bless,
Susan
Question about Sighing and Yawning
Hi Chatterbox-
I have to say, I know what you mean. I yawn at new jobs when I'm nervous (once, a boss asked if the job was too boring
) My dad always says that I sigh too much (I've had this problem with anxiety and panic since I was 4). I totally can relate. I don't notice unless someone points it out and then I get embarassed which causes more anxiety. Yikes. What do you do to stop it? Not sure myself. -J

Hi........i find myself sighing all the time. I didn't really notice it until my ex-fiance'brought it to my attention. Says I do it all the time; I never really noticed. I don't think I do the yawning. But now I hear myself when I sigh........it's like i have to do it to get my breath. I nevered associated it with anxiety/panic attacks. This is all very interesting.

Hi, I seem to sigh alot but thought it was just bordom. Now that I think about it, maybe it's from being depressed. I know for me that has been a big issue. I'm going on the fourth lesson and am getting better all the time. Best of luck with the program. Julie

Hi, I'm new at this. I am amazed that the first thing that I see is "sighing and yawning." I have been searching for an answer to this for years and didn't know what it was! Sometimes I will start yawning to the point that I nearly pass out after it goes on for awhile. I usually stop it by drinking ice water or getting really cold air around me (O2). The yawns are very deep, very draining and nerve-wracking. I thought it might have sometime to do with my blood pressure or something (and it may) and I researched it quite a bit but didn't find a good solid answer. This sounds more logical. Thanks for the info.
