I just want to scream!!! I had to go to the doctor this morning to get a physical for done for school. This is my 3rd time at this doctor. Well I get really nervous at doctors and I dont know how to control it!!! When I 1st got there I was anxious and my hands were sweaty and kinda shaky. My blood pressure was great but my pulse was 120, better than the last 2 times it was like 150. I dont know why but it always goes up until I get back into the room and started with the appointment. Sooooooooo can you have panic disorder without having a full blown panic attack????? He then started questioning me about my home life and basically said that with my heart rate like that he wouldnt want me to have a heart attack in labor. Well thats a nice thing to say to a scared person!!!!! I told him that my pulse was not always that high like right now its normal. I am just aggravated with this crap. I feel like I cant control it. I have done the program but not consistently. I just feel like nobody understands!!!!
I feel anxiety at least ten time a day. It can be at various levels of servarity, it appears to people that i have a short temper or i'm not interested in what they are telling me. I've found that by recognizing these episodes, i can control my bodies reaction to it. Just say it's only anxiety... over and over and it eases the tension. I think you need to try and notice when your having it, tightness in the stomach, your body temperiture seems to rise. Maybe your mouth gets dry, or your legs get week. It might be very slight, but if you recognize it early you could head it off before your heart rate is effected. Try and be aware of your body and how your feeling most of the time. We all get so busy that we don't notice ourselfs, and that's why it gets away from us. Hope this helps!!

That was the thing that i forgot to mention. You need to follow the program!! It doesn't take up a lot of time, the tape takes about 45-50 minutes and you only have to listen to it three times a week. But, the relaxation tape is probably the best thing for you. You need to listen to it at least three times a day, you don't have to follow the exercises but once a day, but listen to it. It works believe me, i feel much more relaxed than i used to, you will feel the same, but you have to commit to it!!
