I was curious to hear if anyone has used the Isogenix 9 day cleansing program? I'm getting really close to being med free (:D <span class="ev_code_PINK">YIPPIE!!!</span>:D) and feel like there are traces of meds still in my body.

Last summer I did a different "cleanse" and SWEAR it was because of this I wound up with acid reflux; I truly think it depleted my digestive system of all the natural enzymes/floras! (Can anyone relate or confirm?)

I am still taking nexium and between 1-1 1/2mgs. klono daily. Is there anyone else who's used Isagenix and been on meds?

Here's a link to the Isogenix site.

Hello fischee,

I haven't tried the Isogenix. Are you working with your doc on this? If you were on meds, I'm thinking that you are going to need something to support your system while you are going through the cleanse. I wouldn't suggest meds, but I've been seeing a professional naturopathic physician since April/May of this year. He has me taking herbal therapy. There may be more going on in your system that needs attention. I had GERD/acid reflux and other health issues too. My herbalist explained to me that it was infections and fungus in my intestines causing the reflux and inflammation. The herbs have made a significant difference. I still need time with the therapy because it takes time for my body to turn itself around.

Hope this helps,
Eileen :)

Hi Eileen,
Thanks so much for your informative response!

Unfortunately, I do not currently have a gen. practioner I trust (he treated my acid reflux as thrush for 4 1/2 mths.!- I've not been back since), and I live in the Stress... so homeopathic/alternative medicine is virtually non-existant. You've no idea how much I wish there was an N.D. within a 200 mile radius!

My pharmacist had been absolutly FABULOUS in recommending vitamins/supplements; in fact, I printed a list of all the herbs and ingrediants in Isagenix and she said she'd look into it- I've not heard from her yet. I also see an acupressurist who is very informed. In fact, my a.r. has improved significantly, as he is working on my posture. Evidently, poor posture can also cause a haitial (sp?) hernia.

I'm very curious to hear more about the herbs you are taking. Is your reflux completely gone? If so, how did you get rid of it? Are there tests that can be run for intestinal fungus/inflamation?

If ANYONE else can answer, I'd <span class="ev_code_RED">really</span> appreciate it!
Thanks,
fischee

Fischee, I have a foot detox that's really
powerful at releasing toxins from your lymph system. The day after you do it the toxins are excreted then from your GI tract. I had a bad fungal infection and you can actually see the yeast being pulled out. At the time I had the infection I was also seeing a kinesiologist and she told me after I had about 8 detox sessions (she had no idea) that I didn't have any toxins in my body.
The foot detox is also great because you don't experience any heixemer (sp???)side effects or reactions. Anyways, I just thought I'd put it out there because it has been so valuable to me. I know a lot of people are sceptical, undoubtedly there are probably bad ones out there.. but this one really works. The cost was around $250 and I bought it over ebay and not their website.

Hi Fischee,

You might consider taking a trip to wherever you need to go for this type of care. My herbalist sees me once a month, but he sees many people only every 6 - 8 weeks, depending on their condition. I have so many health issues that he needs to check my progress sooner and adjust what my body needs as necessary. You may only have to make the trip once every 4 - 8 weeks. Your health is so important and so very worth it. And it might be an opportunity for you and your family or a friend to get away once in a while.

Check out <A HREF="http://www.womentowomen.com" TARGET=_blank>www.womentowomen.com</A>. They have a lot of really terrific information about womens health including anxiety, etc. They use a lab that does specialized testing. There web site is <A HREF="http://www.genovadiagnostics.com/index. ... e&Itemid=1" TARGET=_blank>http://www.genovadiagnostics.com/index. ... temid=1</A>. Call them and ask for a professional naturopathic physician closest to you that uses their testing. It would probably be a good place to go.

My reflux is significantly improved. My GERD/reflux was in addition to IBS, fybromyalgia, hormone imbalances, and anxiety/panic. For years I took aciphex, prilosec, nexium, and even an Aloe Vera Juice (organic/all natural). All of these made me nauseous. When I finally began taking the herbal therapy and the infections and fungus began to clear out of my system, 95+% of my reflux improved and is almost gone. I'm still on the mend as my herbalist is working with all of my health issues and it takes time for my body to turn itself around and back to a healthy state.

I don't know if there is any specific tests to determine this. I know there have been studies done to show how the intestinal infections/fungus is where most health problems begin. There are books about it and there is probably info on the web about it. Maybe the lab that I mentioned before does some kind of testing for this.

When my anxiety/panic symptoms arrived, my regular family physician prescribed celerex and xanux. YIKES! I was a ZOMBIE for three days! The doc told me to stop taking them. Then I found the herbalist that I see. He is a professional nutritionist with his Ph.d. This is something I have needed for well over 15 years. No doctor has been able to help me with all the physical pain and discomfort that I have been living with. the herbal therapy is the only thing I've found that has helped. And Lucinda's program has also been long overdue. My lifestyle and negative thinking has been out of wack for so long. I am so very grateful for her work. It has made a huge change in my life. My spirituality is also playing a huge role here too.

Hope this helps. PM me if you like.

Eileen :)

Hi Girls!
Thanks so much for the great information! I did have a foot detox at a day spa about a year ago but felt ill- tired and achy for a couple days after (is this common)? The water was such a murky rust color I couldn't even see my feet at the end of the session! One of my cousins is really into natural/holistic med. and owns one. She said there was a difference between the foot baths at a spa (less intense) and others... I guess it's wierd that I had such an adverse reaction to one that is allegedly "less potent"- who knows? I never talked directly to my cousin- she's closer to my mom, so I get all my info. second hand.

Eileen, that is an EXCELLENT website for women! Have you posted it as a separate forum? EVERYONE interested in her health should know about this one!

Your posts prompted me to dig a little deeper into finding an alternative dr., and I found one!!! I made it sound like I live in the boondocks, but in reality I'm only 1 1/2 hrs. away from two "larger" cities. Can you believe that in a 200 mile radius there are only <span class="ev_code_RED">TWO</span> licenced N.D.'s? Both located in a city of nearly a million with the suburbs?!

Anyway, I posted some q's on another forum and instead of rewriting, maybe you'll both take a look and give some suggestions: Gen. Q's- Topic= Homeopatic vs. Naturopathic- Q's and Advice, Please (sorry, can't figure out how to paste direct link here :?).

Again, I can't adequately express how much I appreciate your advice and the time you took to respond. Blessings to both of you! ;)

Hi Emily,

Good idea about posting the web site on another forum. I will do that. I am so happy that you found an alternative doc that you will be able to see. With only two, you must be very resourceful to have found them.

When you are at another forum, highlight the address located in the address bar at the top of the page. Right click and click on copy. Then go to the forum that you want to post it in and in your response box, right click and click paste. Hope that helps. :)

Let me know how you are doing and if the naturopath doc works out for you.

Eileen :)

Thanks for the tip, Eileen! I swear I am completely inept with the computer; as soon as I figure one "trick" out, something new comes along. Ahh, the world of technology.

You mentioned that you've taken aloe vera juice for your acid reflux. I also tried this but could barely gag it down (<span class="ev_code_PURPLE">YUCK</span>!). After reading your post, I went to the healthfood store and discovered the capsules- I was so excited because I genuinely believe in the healing properties of aloe (my grandma always kept a plant in her house :)). I've also been taking ginger root capsules (said to soothe stomach) and seem to have pretty good success- have you tried this? Are you still taking Rx for your acid reflux?

I comletely agree with your final comment. It's only through sheer Faith that I've made it this far, and I know God never leaves anything incomplete.
Peace and Blessings to you,
Emily

Hi Emily,

I'm glad you found the aloe vera capsules. If you decide to try the juice again, there is a product that I use to buy that was actually sweet enough to drink. It tasted like berry or orange and it was organic whole leaf aloe vera concentrate.

The brand is called "Aloe Life". The bottle is about 8" tall and a little over 3" wide and is white with a green label with white and red writing on it. It says "Gift of Cherry Berry Nature" (there is another one that says orange 'something' on it); "Whole Leaf Aloe Vera Concentrate"; "Polysaccharide-rich"; "Active Aloe Biological Certified Naturally occuring vitamins, minerals, amino acids, & Enzymes"; "Made from Fresh Juice Cold Processed"; Made with Certified Organic Aloe Vera"; 32 fl. oz. - 1 quart.

I use to drink one shot glass size swallow in the morning and one at night. And I would take it when I knew I wouldn't be drinking or eating anything else for a while so that the juice would sit on my esophagus for a bit. I would buy this at the health food store. I'm sure the capsules that you found will be great. Just wanted to give you this info in case you decide to try the juice again.

I think the naturopathic doc that you found will probably give you something though and you won't have to take the health food store products. And your doc's supplements will work so much better too. I don't take the juice anymore and I don't take the meds for it either. Both of them eventually would make me nauseated. I have tried ginger for my stomach before. It did seem to help my sour stomach, but it was very temporary. My doc's herbal supplements have really fixed these issues for me.

I will keep you in my prayers. Eileen :)

Thank you so much for all your advice, suggestions, and support, Eileen! Simply hearing that you've regained your health through natural means gives me a great deal of reassurance that I'm moving in the right direction.

I just got off the phone and will be seeing Dr. Bradley on Tuesday, Aug. 19th. I was told to bring a week-long diet diary, my current vitamin/supplements/Rx, and any current lab work. I'm having my throat scoped next Friday to see if I have any damage from the reflux (I was moderately bulimic up until a couple years ago... man, I've always been a wreck! HA). Can you tell my insurance through the school district will expire at the end of Aug. and my husband's benefits aren't nearly as good? ;) And, no, I do not feel an iota (sp?) of guilt since I paid premiums for years and never used any of it.

Anyway, thanks again; I'll keep you posted on the results of my appt.

Peace1 posted it awhile back, and although I did not order anything the sample DVD made me cry with appreciation. I think these may be my Christmas gifts for this year.
