Good advice: "Do what you love"
I got some good advice from a Wellness Coach. I told her I was feeling down and lonely and she told me to "do what you love". Sooooo, tonight I went to my first class for square dancing. I've always loved it. Have gone every summer with my nieces to these outdoor family square dances. But the past two years my nieces have all "aged out" of wanting to go square dancing. Bummer. So, I decided to see if there was a place in town to do it solo. And I found a place with 20 minutes of my home. Yay! I was nervous about going alone, but I DID IT! And had a lot of fun. Found myself smiling the whole time. Good for my soul! So, what do you love? And how can you get more of it in your life?

That was kind of you to share this with others.
I just started my social dancing tonight. I had a great time.
This is my exercising. What a great way to exercise if you like dancing.
To all of you that like dancing. I encourage you to try it. It really helps me. And I actually don't think of anything else for that hour.

Thank you, this is a great reminder. There was a time that I couldn't even tell you anything that I loved to do...I just went day by day doing what I had to do, doing what I was told. Not any more. I am finding that there are so many things I love to do. How about a walk on a farm, or going sailing...I did both this weekend and it was wonderful.
Good reminder...good advice...thank you.

I don't really feel like I like to do anything anymore. I used to like dancing. When I was a kid. I used to like going to the beach, I think. It's so hard to even remember because that seems like a different person. Now I just kind of exsist. I feel so tired when I come back from work, I totally crash out for a couple of days (I travel) then I have maybe one day where I can be semi-active..maybe take a shower go to Target or pick up r/x's. Then it's time to travel again. I also get very anxious the day before because I know I'm going to get yelled at by people experiencing "air rage". Then I want to cacoon when I get home and lick my wounds so to speak. Sorry to sound so down, you would never ever know if you saw me on the plane, I have the biggest smile on my face and bend over backwards to make people feel better about travel in these stressful times.
I went to a new class tonight to learn Tai Chi. I've always wanted to learn it and I noticed a class at my local wellness center so I registered. Don't know if I'll "love" it, but I really enjoyed the instructor and the introductory movements that he taught us. The instructor made me laugh out loud several times which is something rare these days. Tai Chi is supposed to help tone your body and spirit and help with stress reduction, so I'm there! So, my advice is to "do what you love" but also to "do something different". Hope everyone is having a good day!
yeah, i really feel this post.
i come from a strong theatrical background as an actor and a director. for the past 7 years (7 years, man!) I have done everything but follow my passion.
i have the urge to go to Film school. heck, i bought this Apple computer to get started myself. i keep feeding the fire in my heart and keep the desire alive...but i am not taking the action needed to truly move forward.
any ideas?

Hi Paul, you could sit down and write out a list of potential actions you could take to get you where you want to go. From the smallest baby steps all the way to jumping in with both feet. List all the things you could do and then see which ones are "doable" for you right now. Keep the list somewhere visable and add to it and each month see if some other items are "doable" as you slowly move in the right direction. Hope that helps. Good luck!Originally posted by Paul R.:
