Too Honest and Straightforward

I have been told I am too honest and straightforward for the corporate world. Some of my favorite artists were called honest.
It's my nature to be honest. How do I fix this?
I guess it means just know when to speak.

I dont believe that honesty is the best policy...but tact is. I mean is it right to tell a FAT person they are FAT? No its mean but its honest. Is it right to tell someone your poor and your unmotivated? No its mean and negative but its honest.

Now there are certainly times that honesty is a must. But discretion is so important. Honesty is a fine line to follow.....you must be cautious. If your honesty is done with malice or intent to be mean or hurtfull to someone then no I dont think honesty is your best policy.

However, I am NEVER mean with my honestly towards other. On the other hand, I am very opened about myself. In fact, too much so.I guess that was what I meant by my question.
But either way, you are right, tact is necessary.
