Hi austin-
Yikes!!
I am old enough to be your mother (I have a 13 year old son and other younger ones), but I also have been in the same place as you in terms of not liking parts of me and focussing on them so much that it blocked other stuff out.
I would say that I have the gift of age in listening to your situation, so that I can tell you 100% that you are great the way you are. Yes, your jaw may not be perfect and your profile is not as you desire, but let the new braces do their work in shaping your bite and moving your teeth. Instead of looking only at yourself in the mirror and telling yourself how much you hate yourself, get out and be active and it especially helps if you can help someone else with a problem they are having. It takes the pressure off of always thinking of yourself and lets you relax and feel good about helping your fellow man. And... I would say that when you are a grown up and IF you still have those feelings about your profile, etc. then you could choose to do something about it via cosmetic surgery. It's actually very common-- you are not odd at all.
Your chin is not worth your whole life. It has it's place and in time you can deal with it if you choose. For now, enjoy being a teen and growing up and learning about yourself and others. You are great just the way you are-- I believe your parents and your orthodontist. No one has every part of them totally perfect and no one expects you to. That is what is so amazing. We with anxiety think that everyone is looking at us and judging us, and I have come to find out that they really aren't paying that much attention to you at all. They are more looking at themselves-- Really.
Please talk to someone you trust about feeling suicidal. And don't do anything rash--- WE all love you and look forward to helping you figure this problem out.
Terri

Austin...You are fine just the way you are...You are your own worse critic...We all find flaws with our appearance. This is normal. That does not mean that you have anything wrong with the way you look!!!!
Just accept yourself for who you are. There is absolutely nothing wrong with your looks.
Have a Great Night!!!
